Chinese lidar maker Hesai raises $531m in HK share offering
Hesai Group, a Shanghai-based manufacturer of automotive lidar sensors, has raised US$531 million through a Hong Kong share offering.
The funds will be used to expand production facilities in China and overseas.
Hesai offered 19.55 million shares at HK$212.80 (US$27.36) each, marking the largest Hong Kong listing by a US-traded Chinese firm in four years.
The company’s H shares rose 10% to HK$234 (US$30) on their trading debut, slightly above Hesai’s Nasdaq closing price the previous day.
Hesai produces lidar sensors priced around US$200 per unit, used in intelligent and autonomous vehicles.
