Hesai Technology has signed a lidar supply deal worth over US$40 million with a major US-based robotaxi company.

Hesai Technology, a Shanghai-based lidar manufacturer listed on Nasdaq, will serve as the exclusive supplier of both long- and short-range lidar sensors for the client, with deliveries set to complete by the end of 2026.

The company’s CEO, Yifan Li, described the agreement as a deepening of its partnership with the US robotaxi firm.

A report by Yole Group said Hesai held a 61% share of the global L4 autonomous driving lidar market in 2024.

The name of the US robotaxi company involved in the deal was not disclosed.
