Chinese chipmaker files 20 new patents to boost chip efficiency

Yangtze Memory Technologies Co (YMTC), a Chinese flash memory chipmaker, has published nearly 20 new patents to enhance computing efficiency and optimize chip-stacking processes.

The patents, made public on Mar. 28, by the China National Intellectual Property Administration, were filed between 2021 and 2023.

Innovations include improved stacking structures to resist deformation, methods to shield against electromagnetic interference, and techniques to increase storage density.

Several patents also focus on software optimization. One method refreshes flash memory data to reduce erasure frequency and delay wear-out failure, which extends the service life of memory systems.
