Chinese biotech firm Innorna reportedly plans $200m HK IPO
Innorna, a Chinese developer of messenger RNA therapies, is planning an IPO in Hong Kong that could raise around US$200 million, according to people familiar with the matter.
The company is working with China International Capital Corp. and Jefferies Financial Group Inc. on the proposed listing, which could happen as early as 2026.
Plans for the IPO, including its size and timing, are still under discussion and may change.
Innorna develops lipid nanoparticle delivery systems and RNA therapies for infectious and rare diseases, metabolic disorders, and cancer immunotherapy.
Founded in 2019, it raised US$120 million in a funding round three years ago led by CDH Investments and Huaxing Healthcare Fund.

🧠 Food for thought
Implications, context, and why it matters.
Innorna’s pipeline has not hit pre-IPO milestones
- The Phase II Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) vaccine in China tests doses in healthy adults 60 or older 1. Phase III has not begun, and no program has reached pivotal trials that can lift valuations before an IPO.
- Herpes zoster (shingles) vaccine has Investigational New Drug (IND) clearance 2. IND status only permits human testing. No Phase I readout, partnerships, or Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) capacity are disclosed, limiting visibility on time to revenue.
- Innorna cites a proprietary lipid nanoparticle (LNP) library of 6,000+ ionizable lipids (molecules engineered to carry charge to help RNA enter cells) 1. No sign that any formulation beats LNPs used by Moderna or BioNTech, so platform edge remains unproven.
Service firms can target Hong Kong’s biotech IPO pipeline
- Hong Kong had 48 active Chapter 18A and 18C applications in October 2025 3. On Sept 29–30, over 10 pharma and biotech firms filed A1s 4. IR, compliance, translation shops can pitch using Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing’s (HKEX) A1 filing database (the exchange’s repository for initial listing applications).
- The May 2025 TECH channel, HKEX’s route for specialist tech, allows confidential filing 5. That shift opens earlier pre-IPO roadshow prep for institutional IR teams while companies guard sensitive data and build investor pipelines.
- Mainland issuers filed 34 biotech IPOs in H1 2025 5, while healthcare deals averaged 30.4% first-day gains 6. Virtual roadshow platforms and investor targeting tools have a short window to engage prospects before pricing.
