Chinese AI startup raises $41.2m to improve video tech

Chinese AI startup AISphere has completed its Series A2, A3, and A4 funding rounds, raising nearly 300 million yuan (US$41.2 million).

Key investors included Ant Group, the Beijing Artificial Intelligence Industry Investment Fund, CAS Investment, and Lighthouse Capital.

Founded in April 2023, AISphere focuses on developing AI video models and applications.

The funding will support technical research, expand computing resources, grow the talent pool, as well as improve product development and market reach.

The company’s flagship product, PixVerse, allows users to create videos from text and has gained considerable traction since its launch in January 2024.

PixVerse’s traffic surpassed 1 million visitors in February 2024. The Chinese version, “Aishi Video Large Model,” is currently in internal testing.
