Chinese AI startup Moonshot launches Kimi for finance

Beijing-based Moonshot, the Chinese AI startup behind the Kimi model, said September 17 it launched Kimi for financial services in China.

Investment bank CICC and venture capital firm HSG are among the users as Moonshot seeks to expand commercial applications.

The product lets users access data from sources including S&P Global Market Intelligence, Crunchbase, Wind, Tianyancha, and the US Securities and Exchange Commission’s EDGAR system.

Moonshot said Kimi can also access the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, and the St. Louis Fed’s FRED database.

A test on Kimi’s mobile app indicated that access varied by subscription tier. Plans start at 49 yuan (US$7.3) a month and go up to 699 yuan (US$100).
