Shanghai-based Synyi AI has launched a trial clinic in the Al-Ahsa region of Saudi Arabia, using AI as the main diagnostic tool.

The project began in April in partnership with Almoosa Health Group and features an AI “doctor” named Dr. Hua, which interacts with patients to diagnose and recommend treatments.

Patients report symptoms to the AI through a tablet. Human assistants provide additional inputs such as cardiograms and X-rays.

Dr. Hua generates a treatment plan, which is then reviewed and approved by a human doctor who does not interact directly with the patient.

Human doctors are available for emergencies and oversight.
