China’s YMTC revenue to grow 6x faster than peers: report
Yangtze Memory Technologies (YMTC), a China-based flash memory maker, is forecast to grow revenue 6x faster than its NAND flash peers in 2026 as it expands into enterprise solid-state drives (SSDs), according to Counterpoint Research.
Server-related revenue was effectively zero in 2024, but could make up nearly 39% of YMTC’s revenue by 2028, Counterpoint said.
Parent company CCSH Corporation’s Shanghai Star Market initial public offering (IPO) application has been accepted. CCSH aims to raise 33 billion yuan, or about US$4.9 billion.
YMTC has entered the global top three among NAND flash suppliers.
The expansion could face constraints. YMTC was added to the US Entity List in December 2022, which imposed licensing requirements on certain exports, reexports, and in-country transfers subject to US export controls.
Mordor Intelligence said demand for data-center SSDs in China is growing as cloud providers and internet companies expand capacity.
