China’s Pony.ai to expand robotaxi fleet to 1,000 by 2025
Pony.ai, a China-based autonomous vehicle company, plans to increase its robotaxi fleet from approximately 250 vehicles to over 1,000 by 2025.
This expansion is part of a partnership with GAC Aion, a division of the GAC Group.
The expanded fleet will enhance service coverage in major cities, including Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai, and Shenzhen.
Currently, Pony.ai’s fleet averages 15 rides per vehicle daily, which amounts to over 26,000 weekly trips.
