China’s new-energy passenger car sales up 51% from Nov 2023

China’s new-energy passenger car market recorded significant growth in November.

According to the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA), wholesale numbers reached 1.46 million units, marking a 51% increase from the previous year and a 6% rise from October.

Chinese automakers BYD and Geely led the market, with BYD reporting 504,003 units and Geely 122,453 units in wholesale volumes. Tesla China ranked fifth, with sales figures of 78,856 units.

The CPCA noted that events such as China’s “Double 11” shopping festival and the Guangzhou International Automobile Exhibition contributed to increased consumer demand.
