China’s Minieye launches four-legged delivery robot
Shenzhen-based autonomous driving company Minieye launched Combo in China on July 6, a closed-loop logistics system that combines its Xiaozhu unmanned vehicles with a four-wheeled legged robot developed by subsidiary YaoXing Power.
The system is designed to transport parcels from transfer points to customers’ doorsteps, targeting one of the most labor-intensive stages of last-mile delivery.
Minieye said the robot can carry up to 30kg, climb stairs up to 30cm high continuously, surmount single steps of up to 80cm, handle 45-degree slopes, and switch between wheeled and legged movement to navigate parks, narrow roads, and other complex last-mile settings.
The launch expands Minieye beyond its core Level 2 driver-assistance business.
The company has filed for a Hong Kong initial public offering and has previously disclosed partnerships with 29 carmakers.
Minieye said Xiaozhu vehicles have been deployed in 18 Chinese cities, with cumulative deployments nearing 10,000 units.
The product targets a labor-intensive segment of China’s parcel logistics market, where labor accounts for 50% of distribution costs.
It also launches as Chinese municipalities run local pilot programs for unmanned delivery.
