Kuaishou, a Chinese short video platform, has launched Kling O1, a new AI video generation model aimed at the global content creation market.

The model offers unified multimodal capabilities, allowing users to generate, edit, and understand video content on a single platform.

Kling O1 supports complex editing features, such as swapping characters, removing backgrounds, and retouching specific video elements without affecting the rest.

The company said the model can process input from text, images, and video, enabling more precise video generation and editing.

Kuaishou competes with domestic video tool makers like ByteDance and Tencent, and challenges global players including OpenAI, Google, and Runway.

The Kling AI business, which provides premium video tools, reported sales of 300 million yuan (US$42 million) in Q3 2025.
