China's JBD raises $140m to boost microLED, AR development

JBD, a microLED display maker based in China, has secured over CNY1 billion (US$140 million) in a series B2 round, marking the largest single funding so far in the global microLED sector.

The round was co-led by Chaos Investment Group and Citic Goldstone, with other investors including Lightspeed China Partners.

JBD said the funds will support its work in microLED display technology and building a consumer-grade augmented reality ecosystem with industry partners.

Founded in 2015, JBD produces microLED displays for high-resolution uses such as smart glasses and automotive screens.
