Chinese voice recognition company iFlytek has launched a range AI products in Hong Kong, establishing the city as its international headquarters.

This development is part of the company’s strategy to expand globally while utilizing domestic computing resources amidst stricter US chip regulations.

The company introduced an international version of its Spark medical large language model (LLM) V2.5 and a localized Xiaoyi healthcare chatbot app.

Additional offerings include a smart blackboard for educational settings and a meeting transcription and translation tool that supports Cantonese, Putonghua, and English.

Founded in 1999 and headquartered in Hefei, iFlytek established its international headquarters in Hong Kong in July 2024.

The company plans to use the city as a hub for expanding the global reach of its AI tools and hardware.
