China’s Hengtong plans $88.5m digital park in Indonesia
Hengtong Co., a China-based company that operates ports and industrial park support services, said on July 12 it plans to invest up to 600 million yuan (US$88.5 million) to build a digital industrial park in Indonesia.
The project will include logistics park operations, data storage and processing, equipment leasing, information systems integration, and related digital technology services.
Hengtong said the project will leverage local resources and build on an industrial cluster on Bintan Island involving the company and fellow group company Nanshan Aluminum, which shares the same controlling shareholder.
Indonesia generally allows private electronic system operators to host data either domestically or overseas, provided they meet local registration and other compliance requirements. Data center operators also typically need to locate facilities within industrial estates.
Hengtong said the investment will not have a significant adverse impact on current operations.
The company forecast first-half 2026 net profit attributable to shareholders of 166 million yuan (US$24.5 million) to 203 million yuan (US$29.9 million), up 66.94% to 104.03% year on year.
