China’s GigaAI eyes Hong Kong IPO
Beijing-based AI startup Jijia Vision, also known as GigaAI, is considering a Hong Kong initial public offering as soon as this year and is close to a funding round at a US$3 billion valuation, founder and CEO Huang Guan said.
Founded in 2023, the company previously raised 500 million yuan (US$73.9 million) across four series A rounds in three months.
Its backers include Huawei Hubble, Huakong Fund, and Fortune Capital. Guan said GigaAI’s customers include state-owned automaker China FAW Group Corp., JD.com Inc, and postal operator EMS.
GigaAI said it builds world models through its GigaWorld platform.
These systems simulate scenes and predict how environments may change, helping robotics and self-driving companies generate training data and test rare scenarios virtually.
Hong Kong rules allow AI and robotics startups to list as specialist technology companies.
Commercial applicants typically need at least HK$250 million (US$31.9 million) in annual revenue, while pre-commercial companies can qualify under additional conditions.
The move comes as Chinese AI listings gain traction in Hong Kong. Moonshot AI is reportedly seeking funding at up to US$30 billion.
