China’s CXMT exempt from US chip bans
The United States has excluded ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT), China’s dynamic random access memory (DRAM) producer, from its latest semiconductor export restrictions.
The decision is reportedly due to resistance from Japan.
The US Commerce Department’s Bureau of Industry and Security announced new export bans on Monday. These bans affect over 24 types of chipmaking equipment and three software categories vital for semiconductor development.
Additionally, 140 Chinese companies were added to the Entity List, limiting their access to US technologies without government approval.
