China had over 5,300 AI companies by September 2025, accounting for 15% of global AI firms.

The AI industry’s value exceeded 900 billion yuan (US$126.7 billion) in 2024, a 24% increase from 2023.

Revenue for AI infrastructure, model architecture, and industry applications grew 54%, 18%, and 13%, respectively.

Smart hardware like AI-powered phones, computers, and vehicles also saw strong growth.

Earlier in 2024, China introduced guidelines to expand AI infrastructure and encourage AI adoption across industries.
