RobotPlusPlus, an industrial robotics company based in China, said on September 15 that it had closed a series C round of hundreds of millions of RMB to support global expansion and product development.

The company said the round was backed by Qianggang Capital Fund, Sealand Innovation, and returning investor Fosun RZ Capital.

RobotPlusPlus said its climbing robots are deployed in more than 100 shipyards worldwide and have completed derusting work on more than 10,000 large cargo vessels.

The funding comes as shipyard abrasive blasting poses hazards and raises emissions concerns, helping explain demand for automated surface-treatment systems.
