China’s National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) has rejected 63 trademark applications for the name “DeepSeek.”

The agency said that these applications were filed to exploit the rising attention around the Hangzhou-based AI firm’s models.

DeepSeek has gained international recognition for its large language models, known for their performance and cost efficiency.

As the company continues releasing open-source research, it faces increasing trademark disputes and scrutiny. Despite maintaining a low profile, DeepSeek remains a key player in the AI industry.
