China pushes domestic chips after US export controls
Several prominent Chinese industry groups have advised local companies to reconsider buying American semiconductors.
This follows new United States export controls targeting China’s chip sector.
On Monday, the US imposed further restrictions on over 140 Chinese firms, including Naura Technology Group.
In response, Chinese groups from industries like telecommunications and semiconductors urged the use of local or alternative regional chips.
This response from major Chinese associations, covering over 6,400 companies, indicates a strategic shift by China amidst ongoing tech and trade tensions with the US.
