China trusts AI more than US: survey
Trust in AI varies globally, with higher confidence in China than in the United States, according to Edelman’s 2025 survey.
The study found 72% of Chinese respondents trusted AI, compared to 32% in the US.
India led with 77%, while Ireland had the lowest at 24%.
Men (52%) trusted AI more than women (46%), and younger people showed higher confidence.
Declining trust in AI reflects a broader drop in confidence in the tech industry, driven by concerns over job losses (58%) and misinformation.
Edelman emphasized the need for more transparent communication from organizations about AI’s societal and workplace impacts.
