China EV chargers jump 47% to 21.5 million, NEA says
China had 21.48 million EV charging facilities by the end of March 2026, up 46.9% from a year earlier, the National Energy Administration said.
Public chargers totaled 4.86 million with 234 million kilowatts of rated power.
Private chargers reached 16.62 million with 147 million kilovolt-amperes of connected capacity, according to Liu Mingyang, deputy director of the agency’s electric power department.
During the Spring Festival travel period, highway chargers were used 6.02 million times and delivered 14.98 million kWh, with daily average charging reaching 1.66 million kWh.
