China components maker Three-Circle eyes $1b IPO
Chaozhou Three-Circle Group plans to raise up to US$1 billion in a Hong Kong listing after securing regulatory approval in China.
The Guangdong-based manufacturer makes ceramic components used in phones, cars, data centers, and telecom equipment.
The company filed a draft prospectus in December 2025 and said it would use the proceeds for projects in Thailand and Germany, research and development, and working capital.
The offering would add to a busy year for Hong Kong IPOs, where 40 listings raised HK$110.4 billion (US$14.1 billion) in the first quarter of 2026. Three-Circle’s Shenzhen-listed shares are up 87% this year, valuing the company at about US$24 billion.

🧠 Food for thought
Implications, context, and why it matters.
A niche market leader meets tougher global conditions
- Chaozhou Three-Circle Group leads the world in several ceramic niches. Alumina ceramic substrates make up more than 50% of the global market by 2024 revenue 1.
- Its solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) membrane sheets also rank first worldwide by 2024 revenue, which speaks to its depth in advanced materials 1.
- Its Multilayer Ceramic Chip Capacitors (MLCC) business, described in prospectus-related coverage as the largest MLCC supplier in mainland China, holds about 2% of the global market and ranks ninth worldwide 1.
- That gap brings pressure. Raw material costs have risen, while average selling prices for MLCC products as well as communications equipment components fell during the period. The company faces more strain to expand efficiently while developing new products 1.
The listing comes as advanced ceramics gain ground in semiconductors
- The planned IPO comes as advanced ceramics draw more attention in semiconductor manufacturing, where precision and reliability matter 2.
- Valuates Reports, a market research firm, put the semiconductor advanced ceramics market at about US$2.921 billion in 2024. It expects the market to reach about US$5.163 billion by 2031 2.
- Demand is rising with the move to 300-millimeter silicon wafers, the large discs used to make chips. Smaller devices plus stricter purity standards also lift demand for ceramics with thermal stability plus chemical durability 2.
