China advances 6G development on system design, network tech

China has made progress in 6G development, focusing on system design and network architecture, according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

Vice Minister Zhang Yunming said at the 2025 6G Development Conference that China has identified over 300 key 6G technologies.

More than 100 domestic and international industry groups are involved in the country’s 6G efforts, and global companies have been invited to join technology trials.

China is working with organizations such as Europe’s 6G-IA and South Korea’s 6G Forum to expand international cooperation.

This year, China launched research on 6G standardization, as overall 6G development is now at a critical stage, officials said.

Authorities said they will continue to focus on research, standards, and industry collaboration for 6G, while encouraging further international partnerships.
