China installed 295,000 new industrial robots in 2024, according to the latest International Federation of Robotics (IFR) World Robotics Report.

The country now has 2.03 million active industrial robots, the highest number globally.

This surge comes as China’s population declined for the third year in a row, falling by 1.39 million in 2024.

The rise in robots is seen as a way for China’s factories to address a shrinking workforce.
