Chery backs $100m funding for Chinese AI startup PsiBot
Shanghai-based PsiBot, also known as Lingchu Intelligence, is an AI startup developing embodied AI and world models for robots.
It is reportedly close to raising US$100 million at a US$1.48 billion valuation.
The financing is being led by Chinese carmaker Chery Automobile and includes Lens Technology, a sensor maker for companies including Apple and Tesla.
Founded in 2024, PsiBot was set up by people from robotics entrepreneurship, robotics and autonomous-driving algorithms, and academia.
The team includes Yang Yaodong of Peking University’s Institute for Artificial Intelligence.
The company says it has launched its Psi R0, R0.5, and R1 embodied models and has completed small-scale scenario verification in warehouses for logistics clients.
Before the reported new round, PsiBot had raised about US$300 million since it was founded in 2024.
Chery’s participation would fit its broader AI and robotics push. The automaker has said cars and robots share core technologies such as perception, decision-making, and control.
