Cerebras falls on lower 2026 margin forecast

US AI chipmaker Cerebras Systems forecast 2026 adjusted revenue of US$855 million to US$865 million on June 23, above analyst estimates. But its shares fell 7.8% in extended trading in the US after it projected lower gross margins for next year.

Cerebras, which focuses on inference, forecast 2026 gross margins of 38% to 41%, down from 45% in the first quarter.

Cerebras reported first-quarter revenue of US$193.4 million, up from US$99.5 million a year earlier, and an adjusted net loss of US$2.5 million.

The company also said its growth is tied in part to OpenAI, including a multiyear US$20 billion deal under which the ChatGPT maker will deploy 750 megawatts of Cerebras chips.
