Cassava, Nvidia to launch Africa’s first AI factory by 2025
Cassava Technologies, founded by Zimbabwean telecom entrepreneur Strive Masiyiwa, plans to establish Africa’s first AI factory in partnership with Nvidia Corp.
The facility will use Nvidia’s advanced computing and AI software. It is expected to begin operations at Cassava’s data centers in South Africa by June 2025.
The company also intends to expand this initiative to its data centers in Egypt, Kenya, Morocco, and Nigeria. As a cloud partner of Nvidia, Cassava aims to provide African businesses, startups, and researchers with access to AI infrastructure, according to a company statement.
