ByteDance valued over $400b by major investors
ByteDance has been valued at over US$400 billion by major investors, marking a recovery from a low of US$275 billion in mid-2022.
SoftBank Group’s Vision Fund assessed its value at over US$400 billion in December, while Fidelity Investments and T. Rowe Price Group assigned valuations of US$410 billion and U$450 billion, respectively.
These estimates, based on US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filings, exclude TikTok’s US operations due to ongoing ban concerns.
The company’s strong revenue growth and AI potential, particularly through its chatbot Doubao with 75 million active users, have driven this valuation increase.
The broader recovery of China’s tech sector, supported by AI advancements and regulatory easing, has also contributed.
ByteDance and its key investors have declined to comment on the updated valuations.
