ByteDance unveils new 3D generation model for simulation
ByteDance’s Seed team has unveiled Seed3D 1.0, a 3D generative model designed to advance world simulation and embodied intelligence.
The model can generate high-fidelity 3D assets from images for use in physics simulations.
It produces 3D objects compatible with industry-standard environments, such as Nvidia’s Isaac Sim, and can adjust asset sizes to real-world measurements using a vision-language model.
User studies and benchmark tests showed Seed3D 1.0 produced detailed 3D geometry and textures that closely match input images, outperforming several baseline methods.
Researchers also showed that assets could be used in robotic manipulation experiments, preserving fine details for realistic simulation.
Seed3D 1.0 can generate entire scenes by combining multiple objects based on spatial relationships in input images.
