ByteDance, TikTok’s parent company, is in discussions with GoTo for partnership to reintroduce TikTok Shop to the Indonesian market. The collaboration could boost Tokopedia in competition with Shopee and also allow TikTok Shop to reclaim a crucial market.

However, experts suggest that instead of forming partnerships, TikTok would be better off in the long run by building its own ecommerce operation.
