Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer BYD is set to reveal two new flagship models, the Han L sedan and Tang L SUV, at a global event on Apr. 9.

A teaser video released on Apr. 6 highlights advancements in the vehicles’ design and performance.

Both models use a new 1000V high-voltage platform, improving BYD’s drivetrain and charging systems.

Early specifications indicate that the vehicles can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just over 2 seconds.

They can add 400 kilometers of range with approximately 5 minutes of ultra-fast charging.

The Han L is priced starting at ¥270,000 (approximately US$37,300), while the Tang L starts at ¥360,000 (about US$49,700).

These models aim to compete with Tesla’s Model S and Model X in both domestic and international markets.
