BYD switches cloud operations from AWS to Google, Alibaba
Chinese automaker BYD is changing its overseas cloud infrastructure from Amazon Web Services (AWS) to Google Cloud and Alibaba.
This transition comes after a partnership announcement with AWS in December 2023 aimed at supporting its connected vehicle initiatives.
Reports indicate that BYD spent over US$10 million annually on AWS services.
The automaker used AWS offerings, including Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service and Amazon CloudFront, for functions such as in-car navigation and entertainment.
