Chinese automaker BYD is on track to outperform Tesla in global sales of fully electric vehicles this quarter, signifying a shift in the EV market and highlighting China’s increasing influence in the global auto industry.

As of October, around 1.3 million out of the 3.6 million vehicles China exported this year were EVs.
