BYD plans to invest $13.6b in developing AI

BYD plans to invest 100 billion yuan (US$13.8 billion) in developing intelligent automotive technologies incorporating AI.

The company celebrated its 30th anniversary on Monday, reaching the production of 10 million new energy vehicles.

BYD is the first car manufacturer to produce 10 million new energy vehicles globally.

It took the company 15 years to produce its first 5 million, and only 15 months to double that number.
