BYD has started selling its EVs in Argentina, following the country’s decision to lift import tariffs on electric and hybrid vehicles.

The Chinese carmaker is offering the Yuan Pro electric SUV, Song Pro plug-in hybrid SUV, and Dolphin Mini, all priced below US$16,000 before taxes and fees.

Argentina now allows up to 50,000 electric and hybrid vehicles to enter the country tariff-free in 2026.

Chinese manufacturers lead this segment, and Argentina expects to import about 40,000 such vehicles by the end of January.
