BYD to complete $1b Indonesia plant by year-end
Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer BYD is expected to complete its US$1 billion factory in Subang, West Java, by the end of 2025, according to Eagle Zhao, president director of its Indonesian unit.
The plant is part of BYD’s strategy to serve export markets.
It will have an annual production capacity of 150,000 electric vehicle (EV) units.
Zhao reported that construction is progressing smoothly and on schedule.
Production is anticipated to begin shortly after the facility’s completion.
