Bukalapak revenue up 29% as adjusted EBITDA turns positive
Bukalapak, an Indonesian ecommerce firm, reported 1.6 trillion rupiah (US$88.4 million) in its Q2 revenue and 4 trillion rupiah worth of total revenue (US$221.1 million) for the first half of 2026, up 29% from a year earlier.
Adjusted EBITDA was positive at 6 billion rupiah (US$331,600) for the quarter and 10 billion rupiah (US$552,700) for the half, improving from negative 34 billion rupiah (US$1.88 million) a year earlier.
Gaming remained the main driver, contributing 1.4 trillion rupiah (US$77.4 million) in second-quarter revenue and 3.5 trillion rupiah (US$193.4 million) in first-half revenue, up 42% from a year earlier, supported by international expansion.
The results continue Bukalapak’s shift away from physical-goods sales after it said it would phase out physical product sales starting in February 2025 to focus on virtual products and digital services, a shift the company said had been underway since 2021.
Mitra Bukalapak, Bukalapak’s merchant-focused business serving convenient stalls (warungs) with bill payments, phone top-ups, and consumer-goods supply, posted lower revenue but positive adjusted EBITDA, while its contribution margin rose 48% to 29 billion rupiah (US$1.6 million) in the quarter.
