Bubble tea chain Mixue shares jump 30% in HK IPO debut
Shares of Mixue Group, a China-based company, rose nearly 30% during their debut on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on March 3.
This surge followed an initial public offering (IPO) that raised US$444 million, with shares priced at HK$202.5 (US$26.04) each and beginning trade at HK$262 (US$33.68).
The company’s performance exceeded the 0.8% rise in Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index.
During the book-building process, retail investors in Hong Kong applied for a record HK$1.8 trillion (US$231.4 billion) worth of margin loans to purchase Mixue stock.
This IPO has become one of the most highly subscribed in Hong Kong, second only to Bloks Group’s offering in January.
