Booking.com to cut jobs amid restructuring plan
Booking.com will reduce its workforce as part of a restructuring plan.
Details on the number of jobs impacted and timing will be shared later, as the decision follows a 13.6% rise in operating expenses during the third quarter of this year.
Reorganization plans include updating processes, refining systems, and adjusting procurement methods.
“Booking.com is currently reviewing its organizational structure. While we are still in the early stages of this process and no firm decisions have been made, this is a proactive step to make sure Booking.com remains agile,” a Booking.com representative said in a statement to Tech in Asia on Saturday.
As of the end of 2023, Booking Holdings had around 23,600 employees.
Update: (November 9, 7:31 p.m. SGT): This article was updated to add a statement from a Booking.com representative, who clarified the plans would only affect Booking.com. The initial Reuters report referred to Booking Holdings, its parent company.
