Kuala Lumpur-based PolicyStreet, an insurtech company focused on embedded insurance, said on July 14 that BlueOrchard invested US$5 million in its series C round, bringing total series C funding to US$26 million.

BlueOrchard, an impact investment manager and member of the Schroders Group, invested through its InsuResilience Investment strategy as PolicyStreet expands in Asia.

The series C round also includes Cool Japan Fund, Altara Ventures, and Gobi Partners.

The new investment extends an existing round.

PolicyStreet said on April 1 it had raised US$21 million in a first close led by Cool Japan Fund.

PolicyStreet said it serves more than 10 million customers across Asia and Australia and works with more than 40 insurance and takaful providers.

BlueOrchard’s InsuResilience strategy invests in insurance and technology companies addressing climate-related risks in developing markets.
