Blinkit Q3 loss widens to $11m amid expansion plans

Zomato’s quick commerce subsidiary, Blinkit, reported an adjusted EBITDA loss of 103 crore rupees (around US$11.8 million) for Q3 FY25.

This represents a 13-fold increase from 8 crore rupees (around US$924,000) in the previous quarter and a 15.7% rise from 89 crore rupees (around US$10.2 million) in Q3 FY24.

CEO Deepinder Goyal attributed rising losses to investments in Blinkit’s expansion, aiming to open 2,000 dark stores by December 2025, a year ahead of schedule.

During the quarter, Blinkit added 368 net new stores, surpassing the 1,000-store milestone.

The company’s revenue increased 120% year-on-year to 1,399 crore rupees (around US$161 million) in Q3 FY25, up from 644 crore rupees (around US$74.4 million) in Q3 FY24.

Sequentially, revenue rose by approximately 21% from 1,156 crore rupees (around US$134 million) in the previous quarter.
