Blackstone to invest $30b in Japan AI data centers

Blackstone, a US-based alternative asset manager, plans to invest $30 billion in AI data centers in Japan over the next three to five years. The announcement was made according to president and COO Jonathan Gray.

Gray said Blackstone is in talks to develop data center facilities in Japan with capacity of more than 1 gigawatt. The firm also plans to accelerate its private equity investments in Japan.

Earlier in June, Blackstone raised $13.1 billion for an Asia private equity fund, its largest such fundraise in the region.
