BlackRock’s digital asset products drop to $48.8b
BlackRock said assets in its digital-asset products fell nearly 39% year on year to US$48.8 billion at the end of the second quarter.
The decline came as US$45.8 billion in market depreciation more than offset US$15.1 billion of net inflows.
The category posted US$3.1 billion of net outflows in the quarter, while bitcoin fell more than 14% and ether dropped 25%.
By contrast, BlackRock’s broader business reported a record US$15.3 trillion in assets under management, US$192 billion in quarterly net inflows, and adjusted earnings per share of US$13.91 on US$7.08 billion in revenue.
BlackRock’s own materials tie its “digital asset” offerings to bitcoin and ethereum exchange-traded products.
Anchorage, a US-based crypto-infrastructure company, has also described BlackRock as the world’s largest issuer of spot crypto exchange-traded products, with US$50 billion in assets under management as of April 3, 2025.
It said the firm’s broader crypto lineup includes the tokenized liquidity fund BUIDL.
