BlackRock and Microsoft have announced plans to establish a US$30 billion fund dedicated to investing in artificial intelligence infrastructure, focusing on enhancing data center capabilities and energy infrastructure for AI.

The initiative, named the Global AI Infrastructure Investment Partnership, aims to strengthen supply chains related to AI and energy sourcing.

The partnership involves MGX, an Abu Dhabi-backed company, which will act as the general partner. Additionally, AI chip manufacturer Nvidia is expected to provide technical expertise to this venture.

The initiative has the potential to mobilize up to US$100 billion in total investment, including debt financing, with a primary focus on the United States and allied nations.
