🧠 Food for thought
1️⃣ Cybersecurity spending shows resilience amid broader economic fluctuations
BlackBerry’s confidence in raising its revenue forecast aligns with broader industry trends showing cybersecurity as a protected spending category.
A striking 79% of businesses plan to increase their cybersecurity budgets in 2025, demonstrating widespread prioritization despite economic pressures 1.
Total global cybersecurity spending is projected to grow by 15% in 2025, reaching $212 billion, with security services leading this growth, followed by security software and network security 2.
This resilience stems from necessity rather than choice, as cyber breaches are becoming increasingly common, with 55% of organizations reporting incidents in recent surveys 1.
BlackBerry’s forecast adjustment reflects this industry-wide trend where cybersecurity remains largely insulated from broader spending volatility, continuing as a top investment priority for customers.
2️⃣ Evolving threat landscape drives sustained cybersecurity demand
BlackBerry’s improved outlook is backed by significant changes in the cyber threat environment that create persistent demand for advanced security solutions.
