Bitcoin steadies above $70k as oil prices slide
Bitcoin hovered near US$71,000 as oil dropped on reports that the US had sent Iran a peace proposal.
Brent crude fell 4.7% to US$99.55 after Bloomberg reported a 15-point plan was delivered to Tehran via Pakistan.
Bitcoin traded at US$71,019, up 0.9% in 24 hours but down 6.4% for the week. An analyst said holding above US$70,000 could signal bullish momentum.
Ether also rose slightly but remains under pressure.

- Brent crude has swung by as much as 29% within a day, while South Korea’s Kospi index (a benchmark stock index) dropped as much as 8.8% in one session 5.
- These signals point to investors taking different routes, which weakens the idea that Bitcoin reliably serves as a safe-haven in every crisis 4.
