Bitcoin set for record high as it holds above $107k

Bitcoin remained above US$107,000 on June 26, 2025, with analysts noting bullish momentum and speculating on a possible new record high.

Bitcoin traded at US$107,413, marking a decrease of 0.5% over the past 24 hours, according to The Block’s price data.

The cryptocurrency has stayed around the US$107,000 mark since June 25, 2025.

It has recovered from a dip below US$100,000 last week.

Jeff Mei, COO at BTSE exchange, said that easing geopolitical tensions and inflation concerns could support bitcoin’s price growth.

Mei also mentioned that potential changes in US Federal Reserve policy, such as rate cuts, could further impact the market.

BTC Markets analyst Rachael Lucas cited new use cases and rising investments as drivers of a potential record high.

🧠 Food for thought

1️⃣ Bitcoin’s performance through interest rate cycles shows consistent patterns

Historical data shows that Bitcoin tends to rise during periods of monetary easing, with price movements closely tied to Federal Reserve policy decisions.

When the Fed signals potential rate cuts, as mentioned in the current article, Bitcoin typically benefits as investors seek higher returns in risk assets, a pattern observed consistently in previous cycles 1.

The correlation between Bitcoin and interest rates was particularly evident in 2022, when rising rates contributed to significant declines in cryptocurrency prices alongside broader tech stock corrections 2.

This relationship explains why analysts are focusing on the upcoming FOMC meeting as a potential catalyst, with the current 20.7% probability of a rate cut potentially underestimating the impact of geopolitical tensions and trade concerns on Fed decision-making.

Research shows Bitcoin is increasingly behaving as both a risk asset, rising with lower rates, and an inflation hedge, attracting investment during periods of currency devaluation. This dual characteristic helps explain its resilience despite recent volatility 3.

2️⃣ Bitcoin’s price appreciation reflects its maturing market structure
