Meanwhile, a life insurance firm that specializes in bitcoin has raised US$40 million in series A funding to expand its bitcoin-denominated life insurance products.

The funding round was co-led by venture capital firms Framework Ventures and Fulgur Ventures, with participation from Wences Casares, former CEO of digital bank Xapo.

This funding brings Meanwhile’s total financing to US$60.75 million, which includes US$20.5 million from previous seed funding, as confirmed by a company spokesperson.

Based in Bermuda, Meanwhile offers a “BTC Whole Life” insurance product that is a bitcoin-backed whole life policy.
